Caden, The Spirit Guide

At this time, the sun was already setting behind the horizon.

Irving came to the vegetable stall outside his local community. After bargaining skillfully with the vegetable farmers, he left with a handful of vegetables which obviously had some yellowing leaves.

After walking down to his house and saying hello to a few old men playing chess, he quickly took out the key from the meter box outside the apartment, opened the door and entered the house which was very large but seemed empty for a layout of three bedrooms and one living room with only a few wooden furniture.

Irving carried the dishes into the kitchen with ease, and after briefly comforting his stomach that kept making dissatisfied sounds, he came to the living room, stood in front of the small wooden cabinet where the sundries were placed, stared at the healing gel that had bottomed out, and clenched his fists tightly. "What's wrong with you, Irving? You're used to it already, so just bear with it."

Shaking his head, Irving, who had long been used to being bullied, and who was determined to graduate in just one year after being bullied again, actually became angry because the wound healing gel had finished..

After attributing everything to the weird things he encountered today and causing himself to behave abnormally, Irving laughed bitterly to himself. "Hahaha, I'm going crazy. How can I live like this?"

Later in the midnight. The surroundings had turned pretty dark, and the space in the room seemed small. It was like being in a sealed box. Irving looked around and couldn't see anything.

"Inheritor."

This soft voice startled Irving. When he looked back, a luminous woman actually appeared in the dark and empty space behind him. She was very tall and was wearing a bright red robe. This was the only thing Irving could see. As for the rest of her features, it was covered by a shadowy veil and could not be seen clearly.

"Who are you? How did you get in?" Irving was very scared and confused. He was obviously sleeping in his bed at home, so how could someone appear in his apartment out of the thin air? "You better leave before I call the police."

"You can just call me the guide, or you can call me Caden." Caden smiled and answered in a simple tone. "And you won't be calling any police after you hear me out."

"Hear you out? This can't be happening." Irving asked with a frown. "I have a weapon to defend myself. So, you better start talking."

Caden didn't reply, but took a step forward, raised her hand and pinched Irving's cheek hard.

"Ouch..." Irving took a breath, raised his hand and patted away the hand that looked like an iron clamp, and said bitterly. "Why are you even pinching? Don't you know that it hurts?"

"Dreams don't hurt now, do they?"

"Dreams? Am I dreaming?"

Caden tilted her head and explained. "I am a spirit guide and have always been living inside the hidden supreme fetus. The supreme fetus is now inside your body, so I can also appear in your consciousness.”

"The Supreme fetus is in my body? What is that?" Irving was shocked and lowered his head to look at his body.

"Haha." Caden chuckled and opened her mouth. "The Supreme fetus is an inheritance, invisible one. You can understand it as a seed that takes root and sprouts inside your body and improves who you are as a living being. As for how it happened to be inside your body, you have to ask yourself."

"Huh?" Irving exclaimed. Why would he ask himself that?

Caden glanced at Irving and continued. "Anyway, your current self is extremely weak in body and soul."

Irving blinked, then laughed loudly, and said. "Why does this sound a bit like the protagonist in a novel who gets a system and embarked on a crazy adventure, and then develops a unique super power, and then starts to kill goblins, orcs, and trolls before facing the final boss?"

"You have a wild imagination, I must say. Well, it's roughly like this." Caden smiled sinisterly, then lowered his head and said calmly. "Bings are evil people, and the inheritors are the opposite of them, but most of the time, they always die in horrible ways. So, it's now your choice if you want me to be teaching you the ways of an inheritor."

"This is really happening, isn't it?" Irving was dumbfounded. Moreover, this sounded like him playing with the devil. But apart from the risks, after learning ways to make himself better by having superpowers, wouldn't it mean that he could have a beautiful lady to be his girlfriend, and not die lonely? Or was this spirit stuff all in his mind?

After much thought, he couldn't make up his mind. After all, his cowardly and forbearing character was not developed in a day or two.

"Don't make a decision in a hurry. This kind of decision is once in a lifetime. I can wait. When you decide, just recite my name silently in your heart. But for now, it's time for me to send you out of this space." Caden also seemed to know the problem of this inheritor, so Irving was not forced to make an immediate decision.

Irving raised his hand and waved it around, and realized he was alone in his bedroom and murmured to himself. "I'll be damned. This is really happening. Inheritor... and it's not just the physique that changes in the supreme's body,..."

As time flew by, Irving's life was just like before. He still went to school, ate, slept, and got bullied every day. Slowly, he completely forgot about the supreme spirit guide.
