Chapter 39

Scarlett stepped out of the car feeling like royalty and held on to Mason. Fallon's was closed for the night, and as a result there was an eerie stillness to the air, giving it an atmosphere of magnificent beauty and terrifying splendor. The huge restaurant lumbered high up above them, and the glass of its walls took on the color of the night sky, and it was all a big gray black.

But as they moved closer the whole building lit up at once and the extensive fountains flared up causing fluorescent light to dance on the crystal floor, and as Scarlett stepped into the wonder with her magnificent shoes, it was like stepping into diamond encrusted waters.

“Oh my God.” Michelle breathed as she tore from the window and hurried down to see the real thing.

“Michelle!” Scarlett laughed, and standing on the fluorescent waters she looked like a creature of the deep with her cascading curls.
