004. THE DnD REAL ESTATES.

While Dominic was awaiting the results of Mrs Jameson six hour long surgery, his butler walked up to him and asked him to go back to his family and reclaim his position. Of course he refuses the offer vehemently as he felt that it was too late for his grandfather to try to make amends, so his butler resorts to enticing him by giving him an unlimited credit card, then he told him that his younger brother had almost ruin the family company and had absconded with millions of dollars.

"Why on earth would he do such a thing? And how come no one noticed anything?"

"As you are well aware, your younger brother had always been your grandfather's favorite, and so he never gave him any restraint. Your brother had access to the company funds, and he was known as the future CEO of Shay Groups so he used that to his advantage. Spending your grandfather's hard earned money like it was an allowance. And when your grandfather threatened to get him arrested, he stole some documents, his credit card and ran off with his girlfriend."

"Too bad." Dominic said nonchalantly. His younger brother was spoilt and immature and everyone at the Shay manor was aware of that fact. So it was his grandfather's fault for putting such a person in charge of his business.

"Young master, I–"

"Let me ask you one question Stanley. If my brother didn't run away with the money, or if he didn't mismanage the company, would my grandfather realize his mistakes?"

"Sire, your grandfather had asked me to find you long before then. The reason he wants you back home isn't just because he wants you to become the family CEO, it is because he misses you. I am fully certain that he had realized his mistakes long before now. Young master, I am begging you, consider this offer."

"What's the name of this company?"

"The DnD Real Estates. It is a company that deals in the flipping of houses and other properties. Even though it's a new company, there are a lot of other businesses that see the true potential of our company and are eagerly trying to partner with us.

This, and there are the other companies that need monitoring, and as capable as he is, your grandfather cannot do it all by himself."

"I'll have to think about it first."

Stanley, his butler sighed in resignation as it was obvious that Dominic wasn't ready to go back with him at the moment. "Fine, but when you decide, please reach out to me."

"I will."

"I believe you still know your way to the Shay manor?"

As much as he hated to admit it, he still remembered the location. In fact he could navigate the area in his sleep. "I think so." He said, avoiding the old man's gaze.

"I will be expecting you, young master."

After his butler had left, Dominic collapsed to the iron chair that was for awaiting the surgery of their family or friends. It was like his dream was finally coming true, but it was five years late. He could still remember the pain and sorrow he felt the day his grandfather had casted him out, along with his mother. Ever since then, Dominic had tried his best to make his mother proud, to give her the life she deserved… but the universe had been greatly unfair to him.

Now it was offering him everything he ever wanted, everything that was once stolen from him, but his mother was no more. "I'm not going back." Dominic said to himself. "I can't go back."

"Where the hell have you been?!" His wife scolded as soon as he entered their apartment. "You know, you have some nerve ruining gram's birthday celebrations like that!"

"My apologies wifey, I was desperate." Ciara had told him that hearing him calling her his wife always made her skin crawl, so he made sure to do it every once in a while.

"I told you not to call me that!" She barked. "You have to go and apologize to gram right this instant!"

"Okay, I'll do it. But let me just take a shower first."

"Are you even listening to me? There is no time for showering! You made a fool out of me earlier today, and you have gotta make up for that. I mean, it's bad enough that I'm stuck with a loser for a husband, now I have to be the outcast of the family too?" She threw her hands up in frustration and Dominic couldn't deny the tinge of regret he felt.

It was never his intention to make her the outcast of the family. As much as she hated him, Dominic still cared for his wife and he was always trying to be on his best behavior to prove to her that he wasn't a bad guy, but being broke got in that way of everything.

"I'm sorry Ciara, I didn mean to offend you." He moved closer to her but she backed away from him. "I promise, I'll apologize to gram Fallon. Okay?"

"Whatever!" She folded her arms and moved further away from him. "So, what's going to happen to Mrs Jameson?" She asked quietly.

Jason smiled as he took a step closer to her, despite the fact that she was pissed with his earlier behavior, she was still worried about the well being of Mrs Jameson, because she knew how much he cared about her. "I was able to get a loan. So I paid part of the money, and the doctor agreed to do the surgery and she's fine now."

"Thank goodness."

Living with Ciara for two years had made it fairly easy for him to read her expressions. So he could tell when she was angry, or frustrated or anxious and he was able to tell whenever something was bothering her. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked and she looked up at him.

"What?"

"What's the problem? I can tell that there's something on your mind."

She looked like she was going to blow him off or just walk away but she plopped down on her bed and sighed. "Not that you can do anything about it but there's this new company that's supposed to be worth billions, and gram is really trying to get them to do business with us but all our contract offers have been rejected so far.

So gram said that anyone who could find a way to get a contract with this company gets promoted, and… I don't know what I'm supposed to do!" She said, frustration clearly showing in every word she spoke.

Gram Fallon was the CEO of the Regal Ventures, a company that supposedly dealt with basically… well everything.

According to the pompous old woman, she started with just an advertising company, then along the line she ventured into mortgaging and she became really successful with that. Then she married into the rich Fallon family and eventually inherited her husband's multi million dollars worth company after his death.

When her children– Ciara's mother and her two siblings– were old enough, she opened up little branches and made them the head, expanding the Fallon company even more. Then they went from the Regal Ventures to the Fallon's Cartel.

"What company are you guys trying to work with?"

She eyed him when he asked the question but she still answered anyway. "The DnD real estate."

When she said that, Dominic immediately perked up with interest. To think that his grandfather's company was the one his family- in- law was trying so desperately to work with.

Wait–

That was the branch his butler said he was to head. Meaning it was his company. So in other words… his family- in- law were trying desperately to work with him.

When that realization clicked in his head, a small smile found its way to Dominic's face. Then it was settled.

He was going to take over the company and help Ciara get the contract she wanted, maybe that way it would make her hate him less… or dare he say it, she might even begin to have affections for him. "What if I told you I could help you?"
