010. FUN WORLD.

One thing about the town of Roseville was that rumors travel faster than any other thing, and so in just a matter of days, almost everyone had heard about the fact that Tomas DeVille was kicked out of the DnD real estates and that they had cut off all present and future projects with his family.

Of course the Fallon family had heard the news first, and that was the reason they were having an emergency meeting– to determine whether a marriage was still possible between both families.

"Gram, it wasn't Tomas's fault." Maria said in defense of her boyfriend. "I'm sure it was Dominic, I don't know what strings he pulled but I am very certain that this useless son -in -law is responsible for this."

Dominic just rolled his eyes at her words, she didn't even care about that fact that he was sitting right there, although it wasn't the first time any of them would say something bad about him to his face.

"Why do you keep saying it's Dominic's fault? He didn't do anything."

When she spoke up, all eyes turned to her, even Dominic looked shocked. He didn't think that Ciara would defend him in the presence of her family.

"You're only saying that because you weren't there Ciara. I'm telling you, this idiot–"

"His name is Dominic, and if you're not going to use it, then just call him my husband." Ciara said, a flat expression on her face. Then she added. "Besides, I don't think gram called us here so we can pin the blame on anyone."

"Hmm, Ciara is right." Gram Fallon said, though the slight frown on her face told Ciara that she didn't like the fact that she defended Dominic. "What we need now, is a way forward. Maria, are you still interested in getting married to Tomas?"

"Yes gram." She nodded.

"Then it is settled, the wedding will hold as planned. Does anyone have a problem with that?" They all shook their heads and she smiled firmly.

When gram Fallon had heard the news, she was furious and had the intention to cut all ties with the DeVille family, because it was considered an embarrassment that such a thing would happen to a family she was closely involved with. But after much deliberation and calculations, she realized even without the connections from the DnD real estates, the DeVille family was still well off than the Fallons.

The Fallons were wealthy, and they also had a fair level of connections within Roseville, but the DeVilles were on another level. They had more fame and wealth and that was why she saw it as a golden opportunity when Tomas took interest in her granddaughter, Maria.

Letting go of such an opportunity could be bad for her reputation and the name she had made for herself, and gram Fallon couldn't afford that.

"Wake up sleeping beauty."

Dominic tossed around in bed, it felt like he just closed his eyes, and now he was being asked to wake up.

"Wakey wakey, come on Dominic."

He managed to open his eyes and he found Ciara smiling down at him. "What..?" He rubbed his eyes to confirm if he wasn't just seeing things. He quickly sat up and she smiled at him.

"It's Saturday." She said, still smiling.

"Saturday?" It took him a while before he realized what she meant. "Oh, you really want to go?"

"Yeah. Do you not want to?"

"Of course I do! I'll get ready immediately." When Ciara had promised to take him out as celebration for him getting a job, he was thrilled, but apart from that day, she never made mention of it again, making him wonder if she had changed her mind.

He quickly showered and got ready, smiling to himself like a teenage boy going on his first date with his crush.

As he was about to leave their apartment, he heard Ciara and her mother arguing about something, he didn't know what the main content of their discussion was but her mother was calling her an idiot for missing out on a once in a lifetime opportunity.

"Just do it, what's the crime in it?" She said, her voice harsh and sharp.

"No, I can't do such a thing mother. Why would you even say that?" Ciara's voice was much lower than her mother's, like she was whispering, probably to keep someone from hearing their discussion. Maybe him.

"I have suspected that you're an idiot, but this is just proving it to me. What is the problem with what he said?!"

"I said no! And that's the end of this discussion mother."

He heard her footsteps coming closer to where he stood so he quickly ran back inside.

"Are you done?" She asked as he pretended to be tying his shoelaces.

"Hmm." He nodded and together, they walked out of the apartment.

She didn't look angry or upset but Dominic could see that she was bothered by the discussion. He wasn't sure if he should ask about it so he decided to say something else instead.

"How was your meeting?"

"It was fine." She replied coldly without even looking at him.

Definitely it wasn't fine.

But what could be the problem? And why on earth didn't Preston say anything about it to him?

Maybe he was also at fault for not asking about it.

Well whatever the problem was, he was going to see to it once he got to work on Monday.

Since she was the one who volunteered to take him out– and slightly because of the mood she was in– Dominic didn't bother to ask where they were headed, he just sat quietly in the passengers side of her Chevrolet Corvette Z06, watching his wife drive like she was desperately trying to win a race.

She wasn't actually driving fast, in fact he didn't think she was anywhere near the speed limit of that area, but the frown on her face made her look otherwise.

Whatever was on her mind must be really troubling her.

"I just realized we might be too early." She said, breaking the deafening silence that had took hold of the car.

"What?"

"I made reservations for lunch, it's only eight minutes past ten, that's too early."

"Right. So what do you want to do till then?"

"I don't know, but I don't want to go back home. So where do you think we should go?"

Dominic didn't have anywhere in mind, it wasn't like he used to go out a lot for him to actually know any fun place to hang out. "Uh I'm not sure I.." just then, an idea popped in his mind. "There is one place, though it's quite ordinary, so I don't know if you would like to go there."

"Where is it?"

"It's called fun world."

"Fun world? Why does it sound like a kids playground?"

He thought the same thing too at first. Ms Jameson had taken him there on his twentieth birthday and when she mentioned the name, he also felt it was for children.

The adult world was full of responsibilities and obligations that needed to be taken care of constantly. Most of the time, there isn't any time to relax and just have fun. So, fun world was a relaxation spot for adults. A place where people could go to have fun like they were teenagers again.

It had lots of activities to do, like trampoline bouncing, wall climbing, arcade games, a theater to just rekax, and there was even a bar. And what made it better, was that they were open twenty four, seven. Meaning you could go there very early in the morning, or very late in the night and still be able to have your fun.

In Dominic's point of view, it was the best decision the mayor of Roseville made.

Fun world really helped him whenever he needed to forget his life's problem, and now hopefully, it was going to help Ciara as well.
