His Change

"Mr Dave, I'm really sorry about what happened earlier," Abraham said as they walked into his office.

"Abraham, please sit," Dave said, gesturing at the chair in front of him.

"No sir, that seat has been waiting for you. I can't sit on it anymore since you are here," He replied.

Dave seemed pleased with his humble action and he smiled slightly. "Until there's an official statement, this seat is being occupied by you so sit down after all it's just an ordinary chair."

Abraham glanced from Dave to the chair and slowly proceeded to sit. Dave sat down opposite him.

"And before we start I'll like to make somethings clear here. I want my identity to be undisclosed and I'm sure you already know the circumstances surrounding these reasons."

"Yes, " Abraham nodded. "I'm quite aware already."

"Good. Now, let's proceed."

"Well, here are the documents regarding the company and the other companies scattered across USA. You are required to sign it to gain ownership over them."

"Who has been taking care of them before my arrival?" Dave asked while reading the documents carefully.

"I and Brandon have been overseeing the affairs of this branch while the others were been taken care of by your elder brother, Gerald."

Dave's head shot up with surprise. "I have an elder brother?"

Abraham nodded with a small smile. "Yes, young master. You have an elder brother but he's not in New York at the moment."

Dave nodded in reply. He felt a tinge feeling of both joy and sadness. He had finally found his family and found out that he had an elder brother but at the same time, his parents were killed by their enemies to eliminate both sons. It was only by share luck that the brothers escaped and he was sent off to the orphanage to protect him whole his brother was sent overseas.

He still had a lot of questions on his mind, if only his grandfather was still alive.

Why did they send him to the orphanage and still watched him suffer while growing up as a man?

Dave signed the papers and in his heart, he had decided to avenge the death of his parents and seek answers to all his questions.

"Welcome back, young master," Abraham swiftly stood up and bowed respectfully.

"What the fuck just happened in there?!" Eric yelled as Lily came out from the company.

"We all saw what happened in there, why are you questioning me?" Lily asked.

"Lily, don't play dumb. Who the hell is Dave? Why would Mr Abraham become so frightened immediately he saw a necklace from him. Do you know what that necklace is?"

Lily shooked her head. "I don't know. I'm also as confused as you. I don't know how he got acquainted with master Brandon. He's just an orphan my grandfather picked from the streets for me to get married to, he doesn't even have a family."

Eric scoffed and walked away.

Lily was left with unanswered questions. She had noticed something different about Dave. He had began to excude a different aura, and this aura was very strong and sophisticated.

How could he know master Brandon all these years and he had never mentioned it before. All these things seemed really fishy to her. Or was Dave like those hidden billionaires she had read from novels?

Lily shooked her head. It's not possible! There are just novels, such events don't happen in reality. She would have to find out for herself.

Back at the office, Abraham was enlightening Dave about the happenings in the company and their rules, ongoing contracts and their shareholders.

"What contract do you have with Eric?" Dave asked, brooding over the documents scattered all over his desk.

"The Daniels came up to us to partner with them. They needed a financier for their ongoing projects so with the much profit enough, we decided to cooperate with them."

"What type of projects?" Dave asked with interest.

He had never gotten the time to know who Eric was. But with the way Lily and her family adores him, he was definitely a man with cash and influence which they had thought he (Dave) didn't have.

"The Daniels are involved in constructing five star hotels, resorts and vacation houses. They're currently constructing another hotel in the heart of the city and came to us to help finance the project and after that any profit gotten from the hotel is began shared."

"Cancel it."

"Cancel?" Abraham asked.

"Can't it be done? I don't want my company to partner with people of such kind. Who knows maybe they might hide a huge chunk of the profits and bring out another percentage saying this was only what they got. I don't trust people blindly."

"We need to work with people of good reputation that we can trust."

Abraham listened thoughtfully to Dave. Although, he had noticed the look on Eric's face, it seems these two weren't on good terms.

If they withdrew their support, the Daniels would have to pay for the damages and that was over millions of dollars. If they don't have that much in their accounts, they could even go bankrupt.

"Consider it done!"

Lily's Home.

"You mean Dave is a friend of the Wellingtons?" Lily's mom asked with widened eyes.

"Yes mom. I saw everything that happened with my two eyes."

"Tsk, tsk. Nonsense! There's no way Dave would be a friends with such a reputable family and then decide to come here and endure everything," Her father replied.

"Father, I'm not lying. I'm also confused about this."

"Should we tell grandmother?" Lily's mom asked. "Maybe she can look into this matter and if really Dave is a friend to the Wellingtons, it will bring us more respect and even much profits."

Lily sighed and looked at her mother. "Mom, what are you saying? I'm divorced already and even if Dave is a friend of the Wellington, he has no business with us anymore."

"Foolish girl," Lily's mom yelled, spanking her on the head. "Dave loves you. If you tell him you would like to come back to him, he will definitely open up his arms to you."

"Then… then what about Eric?"

"We'll keep him as well."

"Mom, what are you saying!"

"Lily, don't act naive. You know what to do."
