Chapter 3

Lady Elizabeth got more angrier when she saw the picture and slapped Green fiercely on the face again. She didn’t even wait for green to start explaining himself.

It was just a mere picture of Green saving a woman from being hit by a car, but lady Elizabeth reasoned it in another perspective thinking it was one of his hoes he stays with outside.

“I believe he’s been doing this kind of stuffs with people outside. At this point I don’t think he’s fit to be called a family of ours. He should pack his bag and leave,” Austin said.

“Watch your tongue man, I’ve got nothing to do with anyone outside there. I only love Jennifer and no one else. That picture was just me saving a poor girl from the road,” Green said defensively. He didn’t want Jennifer to reason all that Austin had been saying. Ever since they were married he has been faithful and he’s never ever approached any woman for a link up even though he had those attractive looks and also sexy body.

“Keep that love to yourself Green,” Jennifer snorted coldly. “ If you love me, you wouldn’t be keeping late nights frequently. That shows you’re an irresponsible husband.” She added.

She was so tired of hearing Green’s voice everyday.

“Quickly get the food done in the kitchen. I’m really starving,” Austin said authoritatively, as if claiming to be the senior between him and Green.

If not for the fact that Austin was related to his wife and the love he had for her, he would have buried Austin 6 feet below the ground.

Green just chose to ignore what he said and proceeded to the kitchen. He didn’t want to bother his wife, Jennifer, not to make her more angry. Heading to the kitchen he took out the vegetables he brought and  sliced them. He was gonna prepare  porridge soup.

Setting everything ready on the counter, he  was about to turn on the gas when he felt something hitting his face directly. “Fucking hell.” He wiped his face, staring to the direction where it came from only to see it was his mother-in-law who threw some pieces of fish on his face.

“That serves you right. Don’t forget to add those to the soup.” She said contemptuously.

“Okay, mum,” he responded, not trying to anger her.

“I’m not your mother, prick,” she said coldly before leaving his site.

The word “Mum” Green calls her everytime angers her and she feels like hurting him anytime he uses it. She just headed straight to the dinning to join the others.

Green just decided to keep mute as he completed preparing the dishes. He headed to his room, the room which he shared with his wife though,  to take his bath and after he was done he went downstairs to get the food inside a flask so he could serve it on the dining table.

“Asshole I’m starving!” He could hear his mother in law wailing from the dining table and also noise of cutleries too.

“Okay mum, I’m on my way,” he took the flask and inserted it on a tray before heading to the dining.  While heading to the dining, Austin stretched his leg out as a trap for Green, and Green who tried walking carefully to not fall was brought down by the leg in which Austin stretched out.

Oops.

Some part of the soup poured on the table, splashing on the faces of the people seated on the table.

Oh no he was in big trouble.

That instant, Lady Elizabeth stood up giving him a very hot slap on the face. “You bastard. Look at what you’ve caused. See the kind of mess you’ve made.”

Green eyes just diverted to His Grand dad, Mr Johnson as he held a handkerchief on his hand, forcibly brushing the soup particles off his head and chest as he kept a normal expression.

He just came to have dinner with his relatives.

“Mother just let me clean all the mess I’ve done.” He tried rushing to the table and cleaning up the soup mess, but was pushed aside by Austin.

“Where do you think you’re going to go? Still trying to act gentle after all the mess,” he sneered disdainfully.

“It’s okay Elizabeth. It was a mistake to at least pardon him this time. It’s not gonna happen again,” Mr Johnson, who happens to be their Grand dad, pleaded for Green’s sake.

Among all the people present  who detested Green, he was the only one who never insulted nor scolded him.

“It’s not okay Dad, this  bastard here is very stubborn to heed to instructions. Look at the mess he has made now. Are you happy with the way porridge soup is trickling down your head to your expensive suit which he can’t afford to buy?” Lady Elizabeth said.

After hearing those words, Green could only bow his head low, turning around he stared at Austin,  angered, he said.

“You caused this. Don’t act as if you don’t know what you did. He was the one that made me trip.” He tried defending himself while staring at all the angry faces around but lady Elizabeth would slap him the second time.

“Don’t try to put the blame on someone else. You did all these. Now get yourself out of this door this minute before Grand dad  changes his mind.”

Grand dad was just quiet today due to his ill health.

“Mum, don’t you think you went too far?” Jennifer asked. Even though she wasn’t impressed with what unfolded in front of them, she still wasn’t happy with what lady Elizabeth did to Green in her presence. Moreover it was her husband.

“That suits him right. The next time he’s asked to do something, he’d do it carefully to avoid less hits from me.”

Green, not trying to talk about Austin and what he did the most, packed his working materials and left the building. Entering his electronic motorcycle, he rode out of the arena and that was it.

He wasn’t being seen anymore.

“Thank Goodness, at least I can sleep in peace today,” lady Elizabeth said relieved.

….

Packing his electric bike in front of a park, Green pulled out his cell phone and called one of his fellow friends at his work place asking him if he could come over and rest for the night, but his request was turned down. That same moment, his belly started growling.

He was really hungry. He needed to eat something since he haven’t eaten any after work. Even after cooking for Jennifer’s family, he never had a chance to taste it.

He quickly headed for a restaurant he felt could be open at that point in time so he could satisfy himself.

At a far end corner, two SUV’s painted black was parked at a corner, staring at the hotel in which green entered.

The leader among them puffed out smoke from his mouth before saying, “ Seems like they’re enough fishes present in the ocean today. What do you think boys?” He asked.

“Let’s get our hooks ready!!” They responded.
