The Spy

Adrain was shocked! The gaze on his face said it.

"Where could the card be?" He asked one In particular while still searching his wallet and trousers pocket.

"What happened young master, time is going and your painting has been packaged," the curator asked again. His mates were also glaring at him. Some have commenced their mockery laughs.

At that point, Adrain knew something must be done to save his face from embarrassment.

"Can I have your account details? I'll like to transfer from my phone since I can't find my card. "He opted for another option since he had more than enough in his bank account.

"Sure" the curator responded, smiling.

Adrain"s money transfer news was confirmed, which earned him some respect instantly from his fellow students. Some began to request for his friendship but he didn't waste anything to decline them all. After that, they left for school.

Despite the screams and hails from the students, Adrain didn't bother to take a glimpse at the students. Instead, he rushed to his given hostel where he instantly dialed Rohan's number to ask if he had helped him to see his card. Rohan retorted by telling him that he had no idea but will try to investigate the matter. Adrain was confused, though he was hundred percent sure that he placed that card inside the wallet and hasn't used it since then.

"Oh! Maybe it fell at the museum" he thought, then rushed back to the Museum. He complained to them and he was helped by checking the security footage of their arrival earlier, but nothing was found.

He didn't hesitate before calling his grandmother.

"Hello granny" he greeted.

"You called cos of your card, right? Be rest assured that the card is on its way back to you." The woman assured him. Adrain mind was at peace by hearing that from his grandmother though he was anticipating how the card would be recovered and how he foolishly lost it.

He went back to the school and straight to the cafeteria. He has been stressed which made him famished. He ordered fries and a crispy chicken and began to munch on it immediately when Rachel trapped him by his shoulder, calling his attention.

"Can I sit here?" She asked, pointing at the empty chair opposite him but didn't wait for his reply before she sat down.

"I don't remember retorting to your question" Adrain flamed up, getting vexed because he hated Rachel for slapping him publicly the other day.

"Oops, I shouldn't have asked for your permission. Anyways, let's maintain peace while we eat" Rachel added, focusing on her food.

Adrain wanted to react but chose to calm down. Rachel's sight disgust him a lot but neglecting food cuz of her will be another punishment since he was damn hungry.

"I heard you lost your card" She finally voiced out, after she was done with her meal.

"That doesn't concern you" Adrain replied, trying to prevent conversing with her. Rachel stole a glimpse at him before scoffing. She opened her small purse and placed the card on the table.

"I wonder how you are going to take revenge for your parents when you can't even keep a card," she muttered and stood up to leave the cafeteria.

Her words shocked Adrain. How did Rachel get the card and what does she mean by revenge for his parents?

"Wait!" Adrain tried to stop her but Rachel refused to stop. He left his food to run after her. Rachel was only trekking while Adrain was running, yet he couldn't catch up with her.

"Rachel!" He finally screamed her name, which diverted the attention of some students to their side.

"Please, wait for me" he pleaded and she waited.

"Where did you get the card? How come? I need to know. Also, you mentioned my parents, do you perhaps know anything about me?" She bombarded her with tons of questions. Rachel, who was known for her frowning face and no-nonsense attitude stared at him again.

"Follow me" she instructed while Adrain tailed behind. They both headed to the white building that happened to be Adrain's hostel. Rachel closed the door and faced Adrian, then bowed a bit.

"Young master" she called.

"W-wh-what? Y-you-young master? How come? Who are you?" Adrain questioned, appearing to be a fool in the situation.

"Your grandmother sent me here right from the first time you entered this school. I'm working with a secret agent and my mission is to protect you from any harm" she explained.

"What? Hell no! My granny told me about watching me all these days but I'm not sure you have helped me. I've faced many humiliations and you did nothing about it! You even slapped me because of an ordinary collision and now, you want me to believe you have been protecting me all this while?" He kept shaking his head in disbelief. Even if someone has been spying on him, it can't be Rachel cuz she has always gotten on his nerves from the beginning.

"Well, if you ain't convinced, you can ask your grandmother. I've been doing as instructed and if I've offended you in one way or the other kindly pardon me" she added.

"You must be joking. I can't forgive you and will never do so. Whereas I'll need to ask my grandmother to change you. I don't need someone like you by my side" Adrain ranted, roughing his head in frustration.

"Jeez! Take it or leave it, I'm not like Rohan that will give you the maximum honor that you deserve. Do you know why? I'm not only working for you but will also train you. You need to acquire some skills before you will embark on your revenge Mission and that's the reason I'm here" she talked more, getting Adrain more confused.

"Stop it! Stop talking in parables, please. What skills are you talking about that nobody else can teach me except you? I'm sure there are lots of people out there better than you" Adrain shouted and wasn't ready to get convinced.

"Adrain Donald, you need to think about it. Do you think your grandmother, who has been waiting and preparing for this time, would settle for less? Of course not! She knew I'm capable of this job before she hired me. If you will give me a chance, I'll be glad to show you my capacity. Don't let your emotions get in your way. Hating me doesn't mean I am not the best candidate" With that, she left Adrain's hostel without giving him another glare.

Adrain fell on his sofa, thinking about what Rachel just said.

"Is bullying part of the training? Am I trying to let his emotions get in his way? Come to think of it, I have no idea how Rachel got the card which I'm sure she played a few tricks. Embarking on a mission for revenge isn't child's play. I need to learn martial arts, hacking if possible and some defense tricks" he said to no one in particular.

Adrain stood up, picked up his phone from the table, and dashed out of his hostel room. He rushed to the lecture room in search of Rachel but couldn't find her.

"Oh shit! Where could she be?" He muttered, thinking of where she may have gone. Rachel has no friends, so there is nobody to make inquiries from.

He wanted to leave the lecture room when Rachel was spotted, coming in his direction. In her usual gaze, she ignored him, wanting to pass beside him when Adrain dragged her back.

"When are we starting?" He inquired.

"Start what?" Rachel retorted with a question, pretending not to know what he was referring to.

"Do I have to say it? At least show some respect as your young master" he said sternly.

"Jeez! That doesn't gonna work for me. I'm now your master and you need to show some respect till you surpass me" she scoffed.

"Follow me" she added, leaving the lecture room while Adrain tailed behind.
