"We have finally found you, young master." A middle aged man dressed in a deep blue, deluxe suit says to Daxon. The man has a chiseled jawline, a bodyguard-like body structure that is intimidating to anyone who stands in front of him. Although, as he spoke to Daxon, his face has an expression of joy, it’s almost as if he is about to cry.

The man looks as if he is in a different hierarchy from the men who are behind him. The color of his suit is different from the rest and slowly, he walks towards Daxon.

Daxon moves back. He is perplexed by the number of men that are standing in front of him and also, what did this man just call him? Young master?

In Daxon’s mind, there has been some kind of mistake and these people have taken him for someone else. He takes another bold glance at them, his heart is racing and his first instinct is to run away.

“I’m not sure what…” Daxon says until he watches the number of men get on their knees and bow towards him. His mouth is opened in shock as they pay respect and homage to him.

Thus, whoever they were mistaking him for must be a young master to a powerful conglomerate family. At this point, Daxon sincerely believes they are making a mistake. There is no way he is a young master, he grew up in an orphanage after his mother died in a car accident.

She became a single mother after his birth father abandoned and departed from their lives all of a sudden, without saying a word. Later, he was adopted by a couple who didn’t have money but they took care of him. However, their love for him reduced when they began to have their own kids and thereafter, he became their errand boy.

When Daxon became twenty, he left the house and rented an apartment. He also got a job at a bar and started working as a bartender. It was the only kind of job he could get because his adoptive parents stopped him from going to school inorder to take care of the rest of their biological children.

“I am Lewis, and I have been sent to bring you home. The Eldest master is waiting for you at the estate. Please, come with us.” The middle aged man says but Daxon continues to move back in confusion.

Unknowingly, Daxon steps on his wet pile of luggage and almost trips. At that instance, all the men dressed in suits rush towards him to protect him from falling and he freezes. They help him up but he is completely oblivious.

“Your clothes are wet! We will have to escort you home immediately, the eldest master will be angry about your current state.” Lewis says, there is so much care in his voice and Daxon is confused.

Eldest master? Whoever this eldest master is, how can he care about what state he is in? It’s not like this is the first time that he has been beaten in the rain.

“Wait…I think you are making a mistake. I’m not a young master. My name is Daxon and I’m an orphan!” He says but they don’t pay him attention.

“The truth about your identity will be revealed to you soon, young master. Please, trust me.” Lewis says.

They leave his pile of luggages at the bus stop and they begin to escort him to the grandest cars that they arrived in. The latest Mercedes’ is a shiny pitch black vehicle and Daxon catches a glimpse of the expression of the by watchers on the road.

According to the looks on their faces, it seems everyone wishes that they were the ones who are being escorted to a luxurious car. However, at the back of his mind, Daxon believes that his bad luck will find him once again when they realize that there has been some mistake.

“Little does he know.”

In the high esteemed car, Daxon doesn’t even know how to sit or act. He is stunned by the plush leather of the seats, the exterior design and advanced safety features of the car. Daxon is quite used to taking a bus or train to get by, he can’t even remember the last time he took a cab.

The car moves swiftly across the road, it is protected by the other cars they brought alongside—they are driving in front and behind them too.

It’s exhilarating and confusing. After thirty minutes of driving, the car enters into a sprawled driveway and there is a person in uniform that opens the door of the car. Daxon steps out, timid by the display of wealth and extravagance.

His mouth is wide open when he sees the skyscraper building, it is known as “Castle” the most prestigious and luxurious hotel and restaurant in the country. It is often visited by highly prestigious people such as governors and presidents of different countries.

It is a hotel for the one percent.

By Lewis, Daxon is escorted into the hotel through the grand entrance; there are a number of servers who are waiting at the top of the staircase to welcome him. They are holding platters of wine, snacks and every one of his favorite pastries which he never got the chance to afford.

During celebrations, Veronica and her mother made him work through the preparation. Yet, they never allowed him to have any of it.

A blanket is placed around his shoulders and a platter of snacks is brought towards him. Starved and cold, Daxon reaches for it. In his heart, he still believes that it’s a mistake that he was brought here but before they realize, he should at least eat to his fill.

Lewis is right by his side and Daxon continues to eat until the door of the room is opened wide. An older man in his fifties who exudes an air of authority walks in. He has a refined style and impeccable appearance, coming from his well groomed white hair.

He is an individual whose presence shows a charismatic aura—one who is wise and knowledgeable. From head to toe, he is in a well-tailored suit that compliments his age.

“Finally, Daxon, my boy!” His voice is loud and it immediately draws Daxon’s attention.

Daxon turns to the sound of his voice, it brings a memory that he thought had been lost a long time ago. Immediately, everyone in the room bows their head at the arrival of the man while Daxon stands on his feet.

“I have waited a long time to see you.” The eldest master says, opening his hands to receive his son.

As his memory aligns, Daxon gasps!

His hands begin to shake, tears fill his eyes and he beats his chest to express his emotions.

“D—dad!?” Daxon cries out and clenches his teeth in remembrance of his father’s abandonment.
