Pain

Khizar parked the car on the porch and entered the house, in the lounge Tooba and his aunt Madiha were sitting, he greets them and went upstairs to his room, before entering his room, he turned to go into Mahtaj's room and he was expecting the door was not locked.

Shaking his head, he called her to come outside of the room and wait for him in the garden, he is coming after freshening up.

While he was in his room, changing his clothes, he was thinking about how to start the conversation with Mahtaj.

It was not easy talking to her, they lived separately since their childhood, he remembers when he was 6 years old, her mother left his father's house and went to live with her parents, taking his only sister Mahtaj with her as well, as she was a year old and needed mother care.

Since then, both siblings never met or knew about each other. When his mother died, he went to her house and what he was told, and what he promised, he brought Mahtaj here to Paracha's House.

It was not easy for him, but he has already decided he will take care of her, no matter what. But the problem he was facing was the behavior of Mahtaj, what he was told, she was behaving totally opposite of it. He has to be careful while talking to her.

Meanwhile, Mahtaj was sitting in the garden and was again thinking about what she spent her day thinking about. She didn't want to stay here, she wanted to shout at her father and her brother, why they just appear all of sudden, where were they when she was a child when she needed her father, why he was not there at that time, but then she jerks away her thoughts when she realized that she is coward and is scared.

She has understood that her bravery was because of her mother because she knew unconsciously that her mother will come back home, it could be late but she will come back and if in between she gets into any trouble her mother has the solution for it without her getting any harm.

After her mother's death and spending these few days without her, she felt, though she never spend her time with her mother when she was alive, they had a wall in their relationship, they were not like normal mother and daughter, but the fact was they were feeling the presence of each other and that was the reason they were alive, they were on long distance living under one roof but their hearts were beating together.

It was getting hard for her to keep her in her heart and live her life, she was missing her, in this house, which was full of family members, her father, her brother, her aunt, and uncle, and their children, but still something important was missing and that was her mom. When she feels that it becomes hard for her to breathe to control her emotions and couldn't stop her tears.

She was lost in her thoughts, she snapped out when Hadi cleared his throat after sitting beside her on the bench in their garden.

-----

Mahtaj turned her neck and looked at him, he motioned her to take the cup of coffee from his hand, and Mahtaj silently took the cup and took a small sip from it.

They both were silent and were looking at the sky when Hadi initiates the talk.

"How was the day? Tooba told me she has set up your room?" Mahtaj just nods at him. She finished the remaining coffee, and she felt relieved, the fog her mind was having from these days, just cleared.

Hadi also nods at her and asked about her studies.

"How much time is left in your designing diploma?" Mahtaj was astonished, she was not expecting him to ask about her education.

"Two semesters are left," she said in low voice, if it was not for Hadi sitting beside her, he wouldn't have listened to what she said.

"Hm, were you taking the classes regularly?" she again just nodded.

"Perfect, then resume your classes from tomorrow, my driver will bring your all belongings of studies from mom's home" she remained silent this time, Hadi watched her, trying to read her.

"Can you drive? Or I assign the driver for your pick and drop?" he asked her, though he knew she can drive, however, with the condition she was in currently, he doubted if she can do it.

"No, I will manage" Hadi sighed at her answer, fetched her mobile from his jeans pocket, and unlocked it, typing something for a minute, he locked it again and shoved it back in his pocket.

The message tune on Mahtaj's phone shift her attention to it, she picked up her phone and checked the message, it was an unknown number.

"It is my number, save it. In case you need it, and don't hesitate a bit" keeping his empty cup on the grass, he said to her. Hadi relaxed his head on the back of the bench and closed his eyes as if he was preparing himself from inside before talking to her about something.

Re gaining his position, he looked at her, who was silent as she was from day one, but he was satisfied as she was not crying and had changed her clothes too. Hadi's eyes were having love for his sister, five foot three inches in height, with black orbs, and black hair, that was shoulder length.

"Mahtaj, after mom's death her clothing business is owned by you now, but as you are currently studying and have no experience, therefore, for a time being, or you can say for a short time, I will be managing her business and you will be with me so you can learn and when you will prove that now you can manage it alone, I will hand it over to you."

Mahtaj's eyes welled up at the mention of her mother, however, Hadi ignored her and continue talking to her.

"Considering this, I have decided that for a week you just go to university and come back home directly, but from next week, you have to come office after your classes end." She was crying silently, it was hurting Hadi to look at his sister in this state of pain, but he was helpless, they both have a huge distance that has to be marched before he can give her his shoulder to cry on, and he knew that to develop their relation, he has to put the efforts and that also alone.

He leaned his head back on the bench's back and closed his eyes, gulping down his sorrow when he heard Mahtaj's quivering voice.

"How did you know about mom's death and how you recognized me? You have my number as well if you knew already about me, why did you never come to see me?" listening to her questions Hadi turned his gaze to the ground, her questions hurt him as if someone had stabbed him, instead when he spoke, he sounded normal.

"I know you have so many questions and you want answers to all these questions but I don't want to answer any of your questions right now. You are going through the trauma after mom's death and my answers will only increase your pain which I don't want you to go through." He paused and looked at his sister, whose tears were rolling down her cheeks. He raised his hand and wiped her tears, forcing his lips to make a smile on his face.

"Once you come out of your current state and get normalized, then only I will answer your questions." Mahtaj bit her lips but nodded at him anyway.

"Can you take me to the mom's grave?" Hadi refused her request but sent her the picture of their mother taken at the last moment.

She quickly opened the picture her brother had sent, and when she saw the picture, she rubbed her finger on the screen as if she was caressing her mother, she couldn't control herself and started crying, she was sobbing badly. Hadi couldn't see her anymore in this pain, he came forward and took her in his arms trying to calm her down.

He was himself in deep sorrow, he also has lost his mother, and he missed the warmth of his mother his whole life, he also wanted to cry just like his sister but he couldn't. Not because he was men, in fact, the reason was when his parent's parted ways, he had mixed emotions at that time, anger, hate, and reprove, all he hid in his heart, and since then they are inside him. He has become used to keeping them in his heart and never show to anybody and that is why, he was weeping silently, mourning the death of his mother.

The scene was watched by Mrs. Madiha, who didn't like the presence of Mahtaj in this house, she rolled her eyes and detached herself from the window muttering.
