ZILLIONAIRE’S COMEBACK.

CHAPTER ELEVEN.

Nick froze as he saw the silhouette enter the room, as quick as lightning he hid under the large study desk. Why was someone here anyway?

Still thinking of ways to do something, the light came on and he had to push himself harder into the desk to avoid being caught then he heard footsteps approaching the desk.

“It is your father” April muttered to him and Nick gulped, he wouldn’t be able to escape if Gregory actually found him.

When he was a few meters away from the desk, Fedora rushed into the room, she was coming from downstairs when she saw her father enter the study, stupid of Nick not to have locked the door from inside.

“What are you doing father?”she asked, halting Gregory in his tracks while Nick gave a sigh of relief.

“I specifically asked you to take the book and bring the keys to me but you left the door unlocked Fedora, why?” He asked back, raising an eyebrow at her.

She fidgeted for a while in order to find a perfect lie, where Nick was hiding by the way.

“I went downstairs because I thought I heard my name father and that is why I left the door unlocked, I was planning on coming back” the lies flowed out of her mouth like it was the truth.

Gregory sighed but he didn’t say anything, then he turned and began to walk towards his desk again.

“I thought you said you had a conference call to make?” She asked again, making him stop.

“And that is why I want to get a document, so allow me Fedora” he blurred and this time he only took three steps before getting to his chair and he sat down. The only reason why he was not seeing him was because Nick was curled up at the far end of the table.

Fedora kept fidgeting, if her dad saw Nick then all hell would break loose which was something she didn’t want to happen.

Suddenly coming up with an idea, she quickly clutched her tummy and fell on the floor and she began to scream.

Gregory stood up and went to where she was, panic was written all over his face.

“What is wrong with you, fedora?” He asked quickly, bending down.

“My tummy hurts dad” she screamed, still clutching onto her tummy and that was when the rest of the family members came rushing into the study.

“Fuck”Nick muttered from where he was hiding.

“What happened?”his wife asked immediately as she bent towards her daughter.

“Chris, carry her to the room and I will call the doctor”Nessa said and immediately began to press her phone while Chris gathered her up in his arms and made his way out of the room and with the rest following him.

It was not until Nick heard the sound of the door closing that he gave a sigh.

“Thank you fedora” he whispered to himself as he crawled out of his hiding place.

As swift as lightning, he took out the chip again and it began to beep meaning the metal was nearer than he thought and luckily he looked up and saw the old box strapped to the table in a very solid manner.

“Sleazy old man” he muttered to himself as he gently grabbed the box and in less than thirty seconds, Nick was out of the study.

“The main gate is empty now, the guards are doing their rounds' 'April's voice filtered into his ears ans he nodded before walking towards the main gate.

As soon as he was out of the house, he hopped on his bike and drove away into the silent night.

Back in Fedora’s room, she was still clutching onto her and screaming in pain, her whole family looked apprehensive. This was the first time in her entire life that all of them gathered in her room.

“The doctor will be here soon,” her mother said, patting her back lightly while Nessa gave her a glass of lemon juice.

“It will help with the pain, '' she added.

Soon enough the doorbell rang and in less than three minutes, the young doctor was led into the room.

“Hello Mr and Mrs Furgesson '' he greeted the two elders and nodded to the young adults.

“She has been screaming in pain for the past thirty minutes” Chris said.

“Hmm”the doctor nodded and set to work but if only they knew that underneath that facade of a doctor, it was actually Ashley. Nick’s best henchman and he was here to save Fedora just as she saved his boss

When Nick got on his bike, he immediately called Ashley to intercept the doctor who was coming and that was the only way to keep fedora’s secret.

April was standing by the door when Nick’s bike drove into the large compound and as he hurried towards her, he could see a scared look on her face. This was the first time he saw that kind of look since he got married to her.

“Are you okay?” She asked the moment he got to where she was standing.

“I am okay April, why do you look so scared?”

“You almost got caught, Nick, what were you even thinking?” She blurted,” Gregory would have used you for barbecue if Fedora didn’t come up with that facade”

Nick smirked, “chill April, I am here now and I got the box”

“Good for you” she muttered and turned back before walking into the house, Nick smiled and followed her.

“I knew I was not going to get caught okay?So stop being angry and let’s check what is in this box okay?”

Rolling her eyes at him, she lowered herself on the sofa and Nick sat beside her before dropping the box on the table in front of them.

“What is the status , Ash?” April spoke into the earpiece in her ear.

“I am already on my way out of the fugession house” Ashley replied from the other end.

And like that, she removed it and placed it on the table.

“You better stick to the plan next time because I am not about to get my ass whipped by your family” she warned ,glaring at Nick.

“Of course ma’am” Nick answered smiling.

Grabbing the box, she threw it open and a stack of papers were neatly arranged inside of it and on the top of the page, it was written confidential.

“Interesting” she muttered under her breath as she brought them out.

Once they opened the first page of the document, something caught their attention. Birth certificate was boldly written on it? Nick quickly collected it to see what was on it.

Name:Nicholas Furgesson.

Mother: Emily Furgesson.

Father:Steven Furgesson.

“What?”April muttered, “you are related to the Furgessons?” She asked looking at him but he was busy reading one of the documents and he didn’t look okay at all, his eyes were already getting misty.

Seeing the way he was looking, April snatched the paper from his hands and quickly read through it. When she was done, she didn’t even know what to say to him. In the document, it stated that his parents willingly allowed the Furgessons to adopt him and they were paid off but what she couldn’t understand was the fact that they had the same surname with their biggest enemy.

Going through the other documents, it was papers of his adoption and others, it was actually a torment for Nick to read through the documents. Why would his parents allow him to be adopted and why did they share the same name with his parents.

Still looking through the box, something peeked out from between the papers and she picked it up,it was a picture.

“Bastard” Nick hissed angrily, the fact that the Furgessons have been involved in his life from the getgo was annoying and disgusting to him

“Who is this?” She asked peering into the photo and Nick collected it but no matter how long he stared at it, he could not remember who they were. It was a man and a woman with two kids with them.

“Do you think they are your family?” She asked again but Nick nodded in the negative, he didn’t even know if he had seen them before.

The shock of what was inside the box was still evident on his face, if his parents Willingly allowed the Furgessons to take him that means they knew what was going to happen but why did they allow tha?Was there something more?

“We should run a photo scan on this photo, we may be able to get something. I think these people are somehow related to you seeing how their picture was in the box with all of your adoption papers”

“But why did the old lady lie to me?i just can’t understand anything”

“Nick, there is more to this. If Gregory could kill her just to get this box then you should know that he didn’t want you finding out anything concerning your real family” April replied.

Then something dawned on Nick, he quickly looked up to her,

“You can hack into the database of nation right?we may be able to find something about them if you can”

“I will get my laptop” she replied and quickly found her way upstairs and she was back before he could say jack Robinson.

Opening her laptop, she began to type away frantically and after a few minutes she looked up,

“I am in”

“Good”Nick answered moving closer to her, “Emily Furgesson” he added and she typed the name on the laptop but there was no information about that name on the internet.

“There is no information about the name Nick” she said turning to him and he had to peer into the screen to be sure. How could someone’s information not be on the database?

“How is that possible?” Nick asked back.

“Maybe it was wiped”

Same went for his father’s name, there was no information about him either and Nick knew to a reasonable extent that Gregory Furgesson was responsible for it but what was more hideous than him trying to kill his adopted son?Were there more secrets that Nick had to know?

“Father can help in getting that information” April said, cutting into his reverie.

“I will talk to him”he answered and found his way out of the house again, he needed answers before he could think of the next step against his enemies.
