Chapter 14
“Aren’t you amazing, Uncle Edward? You even managed to ask Mr. Luther to come. In that case, our mother needn’t worry anymore.” An exaggerated look crossed Andrew’s face. Ray Luther was one of the top three martial artists in Cloud City.

Only Eugene was sitting silently with his brows furrowed. Out of the blue, he said, “Andy, why don’t you and Daisy move back to your own home tomorrow morning? Let Al have this villa. That way, we have nothing to worry about.”

The three of them turned toward Eugene simultaneously, each of them wearing a shocked expression.

“Edward, do you have brain damage? Are you really going to ask Andy to move out just like that savage said? Do you really think that savage is capable? You must be joking!” Margaret rolled her eyes, unhappy.

Edward snorted. “Eugene, do you know why the Booth family’s business never blossomed in your hands? It’s because you’re a coward. Why should the Gould and Booth families be afraid of a small fry who came out of nowhere? If he dares do anything tomorrow, our invincible troops will exterminate him.” A chilly look appeared on his face as he spoke.

Looking at his father’s concerned face, Andrew waved his hand impatiently and said, “Dad, go back to your room and rest. Just have some tea tomorrow.”

Eugene’s frown grew even deeper upon seeing their reactions. He got to his feet and walked out.

“Eugene, what’s wrong with you? You’re upset because of what we said? If you leave now, then don’t ever come back!” Margaret yelled.

But Eugene’s figure had already disappeared from the doorway. He’d run out into the rain…

At the Lakeview International Hotel, a seafood buffet was being served for dinner. Isabella held her round tummy, rolling around on the couch. Then, she got up and climbed onto Isaac’s back, her hands playing with his ears.

“Mister, your ears are so soft. Are you ticklish? Mom is,” Isabella asked, giggling as she pinched his ears.

Before Isaac could respond, he saw Allegra come out of the room with an anxious look. She said hesitatingly, “My dad is here. He said he wants to see you.”

Allegra had already put on her mask. She clearly was ready to go.

“Oh. Then let’s head downstairs together.” Isaac nodded. Then, he reached behind himself to pull Isabella into his arms.

Seeing how natural he was at this left Allegra in disbelief. She was starting to worry that he might kidnap Isabella one day…

The three of them exited the elevator and crossed the lobby. There, they saw Eugene’s slightly stooped figure standing on the steps outside the glass door.

Allegra was shocked when she walked outside and saw her father drenched from head to toe. “Dad, why are you all wet? Go upstairs and dry yourself.”

At that moment, Eugene walked straight toward Isaac with a pained expression on his face. He suddenly fell to his knees and knelt in front of Issac.

“Grandpa, why are you kneeling in front of him? Don’t your knees hurt?” Isabella was the first to speak. Her round eyes sparkled with uncertainty, but she still held onto Isaac’s hand tightly.

When Allegra returned to her senses, she immediately helped her father to his feet. “Dad, what are you doing? Get up.”

But Eugene refused. Raising his head to look at Isaac, he said emotionally, “I know you’re Isaac, my son-in-law. I beg you. Please let Andy off tomorrow.”

Isaac glanced at the old man kneeling before him coldly. He took out his cigarettes from his pocket and lit one. “Why should I?”

“You are my son-in-law, and he is my son. Both of you are my family,” Eugene said, distressed. Tears streamed down his face.

A look of mockery flashed in Isaac’s eyes when he heard this. He asked back, “You said we are both your family, but let me ask you—in the past seven years, did your son, Andrew, and your daughter, Allegra, live the same kind of life?”

This question left Eugene dumbfounded. Then, he looked toward Allegra with tears in his eyes, not uttering a word.

Eugene knew that his position in the household was insignificant; Margaret was far too strong.

A crowd was beginning to form, so Isaac only sighed and waved his hand. “I stand by what I said. Tomorrow, I’ll bring Bella and her mother to Riverview. You should go!”

Seeing Isaac’s stance hadn’t changed, Eugene let Allegra pull him to his feet. He silently turned and left dejectedly, once again braving the rain.

Seemingly upset, Allegra shook off Isaac’s hand forcefully and took Isabella inside.

The next morning, she woke up bright and early. After washing up, she helped Isabella get dressed in her new clothes.

Allegra wore a light blue dress with a cinched waist, pairing it with a pair of beige heels. She tied her hair in a high bun, exposing her long, pale neck. She still looked stunning, even without any makeup on.

Meanwhile, Isabella donned a floral dress, looking adorable as she hopped and jumped.

Isaac was momentarily stunned upon seeing the mother and daughter coming out of their room. Then, he grinned.

Allegra was still wearing a mask, and her head was lowered, looking bashful. She was wearing the new clothes that Isaac had bought for her yesterday, which were all from luxury brands.

She didn’t know the exact cost of everything, but she felt like she was a walking checkbook, holding the hand of a smaller, walking checkbook.

Beefy Bob was already sitting in the Maybach, sucking on a lollipop. His eyes widened with envy when he saw the three of them.

The Riverview Hotel was located about a mile down from the villas. It was a more secluded five-star hotel, and it was where Andrew’s wedding was to be held.

The wedding planner had already decorated the hotel and Andrew’s “home”. Balloons and ribbons filled the venue.

At 9 am, guests slowly streamed into the hotel. Among them were elites who came in luxury cars and exuded elegance in every move.

After all, most of these people had come for Andrew’s mother and her family. More accurately, they were here for the patriarch of the Gould family, Alec Gould!

Margaret—looking dolled up—and her brother, Edward, stood at the doorway, welcoming the guests. Beside them were a young man and a young woman.

When they saw a black Maybach drive over, Margaret immediately nudged her brother. She pointed at the car and said, “Edward, whose car is that? Could it belong to someone from the Murray family or perhaps the Merck family?”

Edward’s gaze also followed the Maybach that was driving in slowly. His eyes lit up when he saw the car plate. “The car is from the provincial capital and has a vanity plate. This must be a big shot. Come on. Let’s welcome them.”

Edward immediately took Margaret, the young man, and the young woman to walk down the steps.

Initially, they didn’t know which big shot was in the Maybach. But when they saw Allegra alight with Isabella in tow, the smiles on their faces froze.

“Allegra, why is it you?” Edward immediately furrowed his brows.

When he saw Isaac come from the other side, his face twitched.

Margaret’s face also dropped, and she laughed sarcastically. “Hmph, he’s still putting up a front. Renting this car must have cost a bomb, huh?”

Allegra looked awkward in the face of her mother and uncle’s ridicule. She didn’t know how to respond.

Isaac took a step forward and said, “It was Andrew who invited Ally to his wedding. What, do you not welcome us?”

At that moment, a young woman walked out from behind Edward. She looked Allegra and Isabella up and down before exclaiming in surprise, “Wow, Allegra, you’re dressed in luxury brands from head to toe. Didn’t you say you worked in cleaning services? How did you get so rich from mopping floors and cleaning toilets?”

Isaac glanced at the woman—Willow Gould, Edward’s daughter. Was she also back?

Willow turned to look at the man beside her, pointing at Isabella. “Hey, hubby, look. Even the bastard child is wearing branded goods. She looks more civilized when dressed like that.”

Isaac squinted at Willow. There was a coldness in his eyes when he said, “If you call Isabella a bastard child again, I’ll beat your mouth into a pulp.”

Willow crossed her arms and snorted at Isaac, “Wow! Now, you’re looking more like my cousin’s goddamn husband. You want to beat my mouth into a pulp? What are you playing at? My husband has a black belt and is a head coach at the Skies and Seas Taekwondo Association. Hubby, he said he wanted to beat me. What are you going to do?” She turned toward the man behind her.
