William stayed in their area for more than thirty minutes before he was able to get the children far away and left them in a nearby church with high fences that would prevent the zombies from getting close to the children. The church was an old, sturdy building with large wooden doors and tall stone walls. It seemed like a fortress in the midst of chaos. The children, although scared, seemed to find some comfort in the safety of the church's walls. William made sure to instruct them to stay quiet and hidden.

He felt a bit more at ease knowing the children were in a safer place, but he knew his job was far from over. He had to ensure their safety by understanding the threat better.
