ARROGANT THIEF

Victor glanced around, not spotting anyone of particular note.

However, he felt confident that Butler Kain knew everything that was going on right now. This was evident from the timely message he had sent.

The guards nudged him aside, and the taller of the two, with a more authoritative air, remarked.

"Consider yourself lucky this time, since you haven't stolen anything. And you should be happy we are in a good and pleasant mood today, so we'll allow you to leave. Get out from here,"

They carelessly tossed the paper bag with his purchased clothes onto him. The clothes fell off the bag on the ground. Victor said nothing but quickly picked the clothes and put them back in the bag.

Just before he could think of what to do next, he received another message.

It contained the hotel manager's complete details: phone number, full name, and other particulars. Surely he knew what he ought to do now.

Observing the guards, Victor didn't heed their instruction to leave. Instead, he dialed the manager's number provided in the message.

Once the call connected, he spoke in a cold tone, "This is Victor Parker speaking. You have sixty seconds to meet me outside the hotel." With that said, he ended the call.

The two guards who stood by the entrance overheard Victor's conversation and burst into laughter.

The taller guard jeered, "Calling for backup, huh? Seems like you're itching for trouble. Well today, we will handle you in front of your reinforcements, showing you how insignificant you truly are. You are nothing."

Victor merely shook his head, retorting, "I told you i was here to book for a room but you keep accusing me. I'm calling your manager. You'd better come up with a good explanation for accusing me of theft without a proper investigation."

The two guards laughed. The shorter one among them finally spoke.

"This is a joke right? It's the first time I've seen a thief being very arrogant, mostly after being caught. I guess you are still arrogant because we didn't deal with you."

Meanwhile, within the hotel, the manager found herself in a state of fluster as soon as the phone call concluded.

She hurriedly dashed down the hall without even bothering to put on her shoes, leaving the hotel workers in a state of surprise and bewilderment.

Manager Zain, as she was known, possessed an air of elegance and beauty that was quite striking.

Her demeanor was usually reserved and polished, earning her a reputation for maintaining a cold yet refined disposition.

This marked the very first instance where those around her had witnessed such evident signs of distress.

At that moment, the opinions of the workers around her were of little concern to the manager.

Her focus was entirely fixated on the fact that her young master had just concluded a call with a rather unhappy tone. "What could have happened?" she pondered anxiously.

As she rushed outside. The two security guards were shocked. "Manager Zain!!", they called out but she didn't pay any attention to them, rather she kept looking around as if she was searching for something.

Seeing nobody there, she asked the taller guard, "Did you see any wealthy young man waiting out here? His name is Victor Parker."

The tall security guard replied, "No manager Zain. We didn't see any wealthy young man outside here."

Victor was surprised to hear his name. He looked at the manager, then looked at her picture that was sent to him. "She sure is the one." He thought.

"You, what are you looking at? How dare you look at manager Zain?" The taller guard said as he walked towards Victor.

The taller guard wanted to beat Victor up and show the manager that he was doing a good job.

Despite the reason the manager had come down, he wanted to take the opportunity to please her.

Victor saw the guard coming closer but didn't care and just looked at the manager before speaking, "Zain! I'm Victor Parker."

Manager Zain got angry seeing a poor young man calling her name disrespectful.

But then she froze, she mumbled, "He said he is Victor Parker and my young master is known as Victor Parker."

Realising who Victor was now, she immediately shouted at the taller guard who was about to hit Victor, "Wait!!"

The guard paused and turned to look at her with a confused look on his face.

As Manager Zain reached him, she slapped the guard, then turned and bowed towards Victor, "I'm sorry young master for disrespecting you. I didn't expect you to." She paused.

Victor smiled, he understood her thought, "You didn't expect me to look so poor."

"No, I didn't mean so, young master." Manager Zain hurriedly defended.

Victor just smiled, then pointed at the tall guard, "These two guards accused me of being a thief without an investigation. In fact the pioneer of it all is the receptionist."

The guards who were already frozen with fear seeing Manager Zain addressing Victor respectfully immediately went on his knees as Victor spoke.

Manager Zain looked at the two guards coldly. She took her phone and dialed a number.

"I want you to fire the two security guards outside right now and the receptionist on duty right now. I want you to tell every business owner that they have offended me so nobody will hire them. Whoever still hires them will be my enemy."

"Manager Zain, please forgive us," The two guards begged.

They knew that they were doomed this time. If not that they were charmed by the receptionist and always did everything to please her, they would have carefully investigated if Victor was a thief.

"Young master, are you okay with this or should I increase their punishment?" Manager Zain asked nervously.

Victor sighed. He didn't want to do this but they deserved it. "It's okay, let's go in. They are not worth me stressing myself for."

Victor laughed in his mind, Just some hours, he was still a small fry but right now he was a big shot. Life felt good.

The guards immediately turned and started begging Victor. They knew Victor was the only one who could spare them right now.
