Wellington's Holdings LLC.
Kay and Lily stepped out of car unto the sleek pavement of the Wellington's Holdings parking lot. They looked up at the towering building, it's glass and steel facade glinting in the sunlight. "Let's go in. And I hope you know what to say, your grandma gave us this assignment because she decided to trust you so don't even try to blow this up," Kay said. "I already know why we are here. You don't have to keep on reminding me, I'm not child. You and Grandma have always looked down on us no matter the good we do," Lily sighed. Kay scoffed. "Good? Good, and you can't even control your husband. Nonsense!" He spat and walked into the company. … As they entered into the lobby, they were greeted by the receptionist. "We are here to see Mr Abraham," Lily said. "Do you have an appointment ma'am?" "Yes." "Okay ma'am. You can go up, he's less busy now." "Thank you," Lily responded with a smile which the receptionist returned. Lily knocked softly at the door and walked in with Kay behind her. "Good day, Mr Abraham." "Good day, Ms Brighton. What brings to my office?" Lily glanced at her uncle. Kay coughed slightly and said, "We came to talk to you about our contract application. You said you would get back to us in a month's time but it's over two months. Don't you like our application? We can draft out another one. " "We know your company is a big one compared to ours and your demands and procedures might quite different from others. But we would be happy if you can consider us." "Oh, I'm sorry Mr Brighton," Abraham said and leaned back on his chair. "Because of the recent happenings in the company which I'm sure you're aware of, we have been really busy to review contracts from small companies like yours." Kay exchanged glances with Lily. He found the statement 'small companies' quite insulting even though it was the truth. "We understand, Mr Abraham. I heard that a new chairman has been endorsed by the company and his name is quite familiar," Lily said. Mr Abraham raised a brow. "What do you mean?" "The day I came here with Eric Daniels, a man came here as well. His name was Dave as well and you were so respectful towards him so this Incident made us curious." "Is this the main reason why you are here?" Lily immediately shook her head. "No–" "We are here to talk about Mr Dave," Kay said without batting an eyelid. "We want to know who he is and his qualifications." "I'm sorry, Mr Brighton. That's a confidential information which has to kept away from the public," Mr Abraham said, his smile slowly disappearing from his face. He had already gotten the clue. The main reason they were here were to talk about Dave but he had specifically instructed him not to reveal his identity to anyone and as if he knew, he had warned him about his wife's family. Dave no longer saw Lily fit to be his wife anymore. She was a vile and materialistic woman, his life would be miserable with such a woman around him. Although she seemed to be influenced by her family, Lily still had an eye for materialistic things and she was a woman without principles. Kay's face darkened in disapproval. "Mr Abraham, Dave is Lily's ex husband and we are here to see him." "Mr Brighton, stop pushing this any further. Mr Dave was never married in the first place, he just arrived from overseas and took over the company. He's a single man so what are you saying?" "We're not buying that Mr Abraham, you're definitely hiding something!" Lily immediately intervene by placing her hand on her uncle's. "Uncle Kay, don't be too hasty. Mr Abraham, I hope you aren't angry with our too many questions. We've only met with you before so we don't really know about Mr Dave and we would hope to learn more about him from you to calm us down that our contract is in reliable hands." Abraham sighed and nodded. "Ms Brighton, you're sounding like the Wellingtons made a mistake or they don't know what they are doing. Besides, Mr Dave is their son." "No, no! That's not what I meant. I just want to know his qualifications and skills and maybe you could give us an insight of who we're dealing with." "Well, Mr Dave just came back from overseas and has an impressive record in business. He's quite innovative, forward thinking and has a keen eye for opportunity. In a just a short time, he has already made a significant impact on our company's growth." "Lily, what are you doing?" Kay scolded. "This isn't why we came here. We didn't come here to learn about him." "Mr Abraham, it will be in your best interest to tell us who Dave is. Like I said, a young man came here and his name's Dave as well and all these coincidences happened immediately he stepped in and now a Mr Dave is now the chairman of this company. This seems fishy." Abraham glanced at Lily who was also expectantly staring at him for answers. "The Dave you saw was just a friend of master Brandon. Dave had helped master Brandon with a loaf of bread in his trying days before he was picked up by the Wellingtons and master Brandon saw it fit to repay him for that nice gesture." "He sent him here to apply for a job." "Yes, where is he now?" "He has been given a job at the marketing department. He is to resume next week," Abraham responded. "So that means Dave isn't around right now and he's not the chairman of the company," Lily said, looking at her uncle. "Yes, and if we are done with this discussion which I suppose that we are. Can you both please excuse me? I'm very busy." Lily sighed and walked out of the company with Kay."Are they gone?" Dave asked, staring at the busy city bustling with activities through the ceiling-to-floor transparent glass window."Yes sir, they came here with the disguise of asking about their contract to try to get information about you from me.""And what did you say?" Dave slowly turned around to face the slightly bent Abraham."I told them you were from overseas and the Dave they were looking for isn't available for the moment until next week.""So you lied," Dave said with a raised brow.Abraham was confused. He didn't know if it was a question or an accusation."I–I didn't know what else to say to drive them off."Dave smiled slightly and sat down, crossing his legs. "You don't have to be scared. You did what you thought was right. Now, it's time for me to do my own part."…The Brighton's Home."Mother, Mr Abraham won't say anything but I know he was hiding something, " Kay said with a desperate sigh."What did he say?" Lady Gaga said, leaning forward towards them."He sa
Wellington's Holdings.Eric and Lily arrived at the company and were both seated in Abraham's office, patiently waiting for him.Immediately Abraham entered into the office, he rolled his eyes secretly."Mr Daniels, Miss Brighton, what can I do for you?"Eric stood up and stretched out his hand for a handshake. Abraham ignored it making him go red and he slowly withdrew back his hand and sat down."Well, Mr Abraham. My father sent me here to discuss our contract with you.""Contract? What contract are you talking about?" Abraham asked, furrowing his brows.Eric was confused. "Mr Abraham, don't tell me you have forgotten about our project so soon."Lily glanced at the two men. "Mr Abraham, we came here last two weeks concerning this project and you already briefed us about it.""Does this contract concern you in anyway, Miss Brighton?" Abraham said, leaning forward towards them."Uhm," Lily coughed slightly. "Not really.""Good," Mr Abraham said and turned to Eric. "Mr Daniels, we don'
The Brighton's Home. The whole family gathered round Lady Gaga as they listened to Lily."So you're saying that the contract between the Wellingtons and the Daniels have been cancelled?" Lady Gaga asked."Yes grandma. I was there when Mr Abraham relayed the news to Eric," Lily responded."Did you see Dave there?" Margaret asked with eagerness, earning a glare from Lady Gaga.Lily nodded in reply. "Yes mother, I did.""That contract certainly was supposed to be profitable to them but now that the Wellingtons have withdrawn their support, the Daniels would have to pay them back every penny they have gotten from them," Lady Gaga said thoughtfully. "And from all what you've said, the Daniels have invested most of their savings into this and they'll definitely incur a loss. They might even have to declare bankruptcy. The chairman must be targeting them for a reason, they must have done something to him.""But grandma, Eric claims that he doesn't even know the chairman, " Lily replied."Bu
Wellington's Holdings:Kay walked into the company's complex, feeling smug. He was definitely sure that Abraham had called him to talk about their project and they will be awarded. This will make his mother value him even more. After hearing from his mom that she was going to retire soon, he had already begun to feel like a boss."Good day Mr Abraham, " Kay greeted with a wide smile as he took a seat.Abraham looked at him, his eyes narrowing. "Who asked you to sit?"Dave had specifically asked him not to make Kay comfortable in the company.Kay frowned at Abraham's rude tone. If not for the status Abraham held, Kay was old enough to be his father. "You called me here to talk about the project.""Yes I did. But it won't take long so there's no need to sit down."Kay was utterly confused. It won't take long? Maybe Abraham just wanted him to sign the contract and then leave without discussing the terms but that would seem unprofessional."I don't understand what you mean by it won't tak
"My excellent son is finally home," Lady Gaga said with a smile as Kay walked into the living room. The entire family was gathered there waiting for his arrival.Lady Gaga had even ordered the maids to prepare delicious delicacies to celebrate her son's success. In her mind, the contract will elevate their status in the eyes of others.Kay stood in front of the Brighton family with a stiff smile.Lady Gaga and the rest of the family were confused on seeing his expression. They were all waiting for the good news but Kay had walked in here looking gloomy.Did something happen at the Wellington's company?Did the chairman reject the contract?"Kay, what's wrong?" Lady Gaga asked impatiently. "Wasn't the contract signed successfully?""We weren't awarded the contract," Kay muttered. "The chairman didn't like it."Lady Gaga raised a brow. The board themselves had approved the proposal and even called it one of their best. She also went through it and felt it was good. What were the chairma
The next day, Lily went to the Wellington's Holdings with the proposal in her hand."Good morning, I'm here to see Mr Abraham," She said with a smile at the receptionist. "Do you have an appointment with him?" "Yes," Lily nodded."Hold on let me inform him, you can go sit over there for the meantime," She said with the same smile pointing to a cluster of comfortable chairs at the corner.Lily sat down on one and took out her phone to play games."Ma'am, you may go now.""Thank you."Waiting for the elevator to arrive, Dave and few other of employees walked out of it. Their eyes locked.Dave merely glanced at her and started to walk away but she held him back. "What is it?" He asked coldly. Lily swallowed hard at Dave's sudden coldness towards her. "I–I need your help."Dave raised a brow, "What do you need my help for? Don't you have Eric?" "He has gone bankrupt. His family is of no use to us." "Oh I see," Dave replied, feigning ignorance."Please Dave you have to help me put. Grandma
Brandon shook his head at Dave's behaviour. " I would advise you don't reveal your identity just yet. You know what would happen if you do."Dave nodded. "Yes I do. Abraham told me I had a brother." "Yes, you do and you will meet him soon and also get ready for a confrontation."Dave glanced at him with a raised brow. "Why would my brother confront me? We haven't seen each other for years now. There shouldn't be any reason for that."Brandon smiled slightly. "Young master, don't be too naive. I heard that your ex wife has been troubling you, maybe with this marriage it could chase her off your back.""Don't tell me that you're trying to lure me into another marriage with this.""No, no. I'm not trying to lure you in at all. It's actually for your own good. And your grandfather has made a deal with theirs, if you get married to her, an alliance between the Wellingtons and their family will make their family grow stronger.""So they are using us as prawns in their game?" Dave asked, fur
Sophia kept glancing at her wristwatch. "What's taking Clementine so long to get back here? I hope she didn't get into trouble."Standing up, she decided to go check up on her sister. Her so called fiance hasn't showed up yet and she was getting impatient already. He has kept waiting for three hours!Seeing the crowd, she raised a brow when she heard her sister's loud pitched voice."Clementine, what's going on here?""Thank goodness you are here, Sophia. This trash bumped into me without looking at where he was going. He smashed my expensive phone to the ground, he didn't even apologize."Dave was surprised. "Ma'am, I apologized to you and even asked to buy you a new phone and now you're saying I didn't apologize to you?"He was already getting fed up with her tantrums. She clearly wanted to embarrass him.Sophia looked up at Dave and couldn't help but smile. He didn't look like someone who could afford such a luxury, perhaps he was only saying this to get Clementine off his back."I
