Watching
Reynolds watched as the man approached the sun sphere. The rest of the guards looked at him with uncertainty, and some of them thought that he would perhaps drag the man back as soon as the man was getting too close to the sphere. But Reynolds did no such thing. He just kept watching, and the man kept walking.Collin who had seen what was happening rushed towards Reynolds. He could see the intent on Reynolds'face and he knew that whenever his brother was like that, nothing could change his mind when he had decided on something. But Collin knew that something terrible might happen to the man if he was not stopped."You have to stop this. He is going to get himself killed."Collin said to Reynold who did not give him a response. He just kept watching as the man trudged towards the sphere.Collin sighed and tried to make a move but Reynolds held him back."What are you doing? We have to stop him!" Collin cried out but Reynolds did not let him go."We have to teach a lesson here. So you w

Sudden chills
The first thing that Vera heard was the guttural growl followed by the clicking. She froze there, thinking about what sort of animal could possibly make such a noise. Vera felt her anxiety increase but she did not show it. She had to maintain a calm composure. The fate of her guards depended on it.Then, she saw something move in a blur. She could not figure out what it was exactly but it was there, and it was watching. She took a step back and helped some of the people cross into the dome, and then, she saw another blur."We have company. Get ready!"She called out to her guards who drew their Weapons in a single, precise, and uniformed move. The guards then arranged themselves into a formation, one of each facing opposite sides, with the rest of them and Vera standing in the center. The mages were helping more people into the dome, and when Vera looked at Reynolds' face, she realized that she should have trusted him completely. He was right after all. There was something there."The

Duty
Vera watched as Reynolds slept calmly on the bed. She could observe the way his chest heaved up and down, and she had never been any more grateful than she was at that moment. Who knows what could have happened if he hadn't saved her? Vera tried her best not to think about the possibility, but the more she tried, the more the possibility filled her mind. It would have been her, lying on that bed, wounded, or possibly even worse. She would have been dead, lying outside with the other corpses, waiting to be buried. She shuddered and shook her head in an attempt to free her mind from the horrid reality.Reynolds took a deep breath. Vera glanced at him and actually got to appreciate how good-looking he was. They had met a few times in the palace whenever he would accompany Alastair to the palace, and if she was on duty. They never spoke, although, she had always been quite fascinated by him. Being there with him, so close to him, she could feel a lot of things-gratitude, sorrow, determi

Collin stood there and tried to decipher the reason behind the drama he had just experienced, but he could not find any. He knew that Perhaps his brother might have a thing or two for Vera, but why did they fight? He walked closer to Reynolds who seemed a bit absentminded. When Reynolds finally came back to his senses, he gazed at Collin."Do you have anything to report?" He asked Collin was shocked by his tone. What was going on with him?"I came to see how you were faring. Is anything the matter? You seem distressed.". Collin told him but Reynolds laughed. He walked towards the bed and sat down, sizing Collin from head to toe. The teenager stood there and wondered why his brother was so pissed off. What was happening?"Distressed? Collin, do you know what day it is today?" He asked Collin who shook his head negatively."It is the anniversary of our parents' death. On this day, ten years ago, they went for that trade and they never returned. Do you know what happened on that day? I t

Obaro
The Northerners camped outside the sphere as Corvius kept himself locked inside his ice palace. The Northerners were already getting quite antsy, but they knew what sort of man Corvius was. They knew that he would not hesitate to cut them down if they met him at the wrong time. So none of them tried to make any moves. And at the same time, they actually expected the generals to do something. The generals on the other hand were as confused as the rest of the people, and Korah was especially antsy. She could be seen walking around, her sword clashing with her shield as she bounced with such Grace and splendor. She was terrific to look at, and all other northerners knew she was probably the toughest of the generals.Korah heaved again. Leif, the third general was nowhere to be found and Obaro was there somewhere but he was busy arranging or commanding the troops. She wanted to speak to someone, and the fact that there was no one for her to talk to made her even more crazy. She groaned an

Asmodeus (1)
Asmodeus watched as Corvius stepped closer. He could tell the king was furious. As Corvius approached, Asmodeus noticed that the ground beneath him froze with each step he took. The energy emitting from his body seemed to get colder and colder with each step, and Asmodeus stood up, getting ready for an attack if any.The demon gazed into Corvius' eyes. There was something there that had been missing all these years, and that was ferocity. Asmodeus could see the beast hiding beneath the carcass of a man, he could see the devil making his way into the world, and he could see someone greater and stronger than he was. That terrified him. He saw something he did not want to admit, the fact that he who had thought he was the Master was the puppet. He was beneath the man in all ways, and before he knew it, Asmodeus was dragged into a memory from there years back, the day which everything changed for him and the world.***(3 years ago)Asmodeus gasped as he opened his eyes. Next came the whe

Asmodeus (2)
"Where is this place?"Asmodeus asked Corvius as they stepped through the wall. The wall was not what Asmodeus had expected. He thought he would be enveloped in something pungent, but to him, it was a simple wall of smoke. He was not even sure if he was actually on earth, for the weird feeling he was having was still lingering."This is the northern kingdom. A people banished from society centuries ago. This is our home, our fortress. This is a place that no human ought to visit. Or a demon."Corvius added slowly and gazed at Asmodeus."Then, how am I here?" Asmodeus asked."I brought you here.""With your magic? How is that possible? You cannot achieve something like that. And how do you have a dragon?"Asmodeus asked. It felt so terrible that he did not have the answers he sought. He had to depend on a stranger for clues. But he looked at Corvius. The king was quite naive, and that was something he was ready to capitalize on."I have the ability to absorb magic. But it has its limit

I have to tell you something
(Present moment)Asmodeus watched Corvius carefully as the latter walked closer. He knew better than to get the mad king angry at that time. The emptiness and the silence in the ethereal realm were even more surreal than what Asmodeus had suggested, and now that the mad king was there, it seemed like silence had taken a stand behind him.Corvius shuddered with anger. His chest heaved up and down as he tried to keep his cool, desperately trying his best to make sure that he did not, out of anger, destroy Asmodeus at that particular moment."Asmodeus, were you hiding from me?" Corvius asked as he approached. Asmodeus said nothing. He just kept watching as Corvius began to circle him."Asmodeus, were hiding from me?" He asked again, his patience slowly testing the waters."And why would I need to hide from you, Corvius? Did I do something wrong?" Asmodeus asked and Corvius chuckled. He was not ready for mind games. Perhaps he should just destroy the demon and be done with it. Besides, he

Cara was not so sure she should tell Miranda what she was about to say. She knew that eventually, Alastair would tell her but she wanted to get a head start. She did not want Alastair to go. She wanted Alastair to remain in Elderien. She was scared, and if there was anyone who could change Alastair's mind, it was Miranda-his queen, the love of his life, and the woman he was going to marry."What is it, Cara? What's wrong?" Miranda asked Cara whose breath shuddered. She did not know what sort of repercussions it would have, but maybe it won't have any. maybe things will just return to how it was.Besides, the cat was definitely going to shove out of the bag eventually. It was only a matter of time."Alastair is about to embark on a very dangerous journey, and I do not want him to go because it is too unstable and it could take his life. Let's get married...
"Cara..."Alastair said and sighed. Of course, it had to be her. Perhaps she had thought that Miranda might be able to talk him out of the mission. She was a crafty girl, and for some strange reason, Alastair felt Proud of her attempts."She sent you to dissuade me, did she not?" Alastair asked Miranda who sat down on a chair. The chair was an antique, probably a hundred years old. It had Been sitting in the room for many years before Alastair renovated and took over. The chair was also one of his favorites."Should I dissuade you?" Miranda asked him. "Look, Alastair, I understand that you want to save the kingdom and you think that whatever is happening is your fault, but it is not. These just happened. If there is anyone to blame for this, it is me. I am the Queen and I failed to keep my people safe. It is all on me..."She started but Alastair quickly rushed to her and shushed her. Miranda exhaled as Alastair planted a kiss on her forehead. She felt confident and safe like nothing
