CHAPTER 11
TROUBLE AT HOMEBefore Thomas could realise what was happening, Tricia ran forward and gripped him. She held the neck part of his already smacked shirt and ripped it in two.“That is what you deserve." Thomas was dumbfounded. That wasn't what he was expecting from Tricia and the school at large. It was a horrible experience for him, and to make things worse, Mr. Amos walks up to him and whispers in his ears. “Go return the card where you stole it; otherwise, I shall tell the entire world you are a criminal." He sighed and walked away, leaving Thomas at the centre of the chaos. George still had his broken hand and had learned his lesson never to get involved in a fight with Thomas.“I shall come back for you. This is just the beginning. Fool”. He spat at Thomas feet and wiped his nose with a finger. His assistants shadowed him and led him to the car. Thomas’ hands tremble as he is about to activate again to another level when he remembers Grandpa Al Thani's words.“You must remain cal

VISITING GRANDMAThe next day, Thomas hurried to see his grandmother at the hospital. Lucas had called him earlier to know where he was, so Thomas asked him to come meet him at home. The moment he parked the car. He stopped and looked at the environment for a moment. “You grew up here?” Lucas asked as he surveyed the environment. He looked at his shoes and made sure dust didn't touch his feet.“I grew up here with my grandparents. It's fun here, you know." Thomas tried to explain, but Lucas shook his head in disapproval. “No. I will pass." Lucas said, shrugging his shoulders.“We should get some coffee." Thomas said this and began to walk in front of you.“My car is just down the road. We should go see your grandma." Lucas suggested it and dangled his keys.“Can you drive?” Lucas asked as they walked."Yes, but not luxurious cars like yours." Thomas commented and scoffed. He was horribly bad at driving, but thank God for the little idea he had, and that was why he was able to take

Married to MAVEN TAYLORThey finished eating and headed to the hospital to see Grandma. Lucas was sweet enough to get her a few things on their way.“Hello, please. I am looking for my grandma; her name is Elizabeth; she was brought in here a few days ago." He told the nurse on duty, and she smiled at them beautifully, then set her system to look out for the name on her system. “Your grandma is in Ward 124. A private ward is in the other wing." The nurse said that and pointed to the wing with a smile. Her eyes never leave Lucas's face for one minute.“Thank you, ma'am." Thomas said, and he began to walk in that direction. Lucas followed by adjusting his suit. It didn't take long before they found the ward where his grandma was. He pushed the door open and found a doctor and a nurse checking grandma's vitals. They got into the room and stood by her side.“Hello gentlemen”. The doctor greeted me."Hello, Dr. Mark. I trust you are having a good day." Lucas said it with a smile.“We get

A NEW HOMEI fell to the ground, and the dogs ran up to me. They had their teeth directed to my face and ready to bite the hell out of his skin, but all of a sudden the dogs paused as the necklace on Thomas’ neck. He lay there in shock as the dogs retreated from their attack and began to bark loudly.“What just happened?” The security guard queried himself, as he did not understand what had just occurred with the dogs. Why didn’t they touch him since he had already given the dogs the go-ahead? Just then, the front door slammed open, and Maven came out of the building. The house was just a normal luxury building, unlike the mansion Thomas had envisioned in his heart. “Grayson! Grayson! What have you done? That’s my husband." Maven ran out the moment she saw Thomas on the floor.“Oh my goodness, what have you done?” She rushed forward to help him up.“Are you hurt?” she asked him as she examined his face."No, I am not." Thomas replied, faking a smile at her."Grayson, the next time you

SHE HATES ME“Get the hell out of my house!!" Mom’s voice came resounding in the room."Mom, he is my husband now, you can’t send him out just like that.”Maven defended Thomas again. Thomas had a confused look in his eyes. He thought Maven’s mother gave her the go-ahead to marry anyone she wanted, so why is she pulling a funny stunt now that she has brought him into their home? She gave Maven a hot slap on the cheek.“Shut your trap, Maven”. Lady Victoria screamed angrily. The bag in Maven’s hand fell to the ground. “All you have done for the past few months is disgrace me and make me an object of ridicule in the entire city. You have options to pick from, and all you could do is bring this wretched thing into my house. This parasite”. She wiggled her hand up and down at Thomas, who was just there without a word. Thomas quickly picked his bag up from the ground and strapped it to his arm. "Mom, he is my husband, and you must respect my decision.”.“Your decision? I make the rules h

SHE IS MY WIFE NOWJust as Maven took a seat on the bed, her phone began to beep from the corner where she had kept it. She turned to face it, slowly wondering who it was that was calling her. She walked over and picked up the phone.“It's grandma”. She announced. After a while, she puts the phone down, her voice changing totally into a frown and sadness. “What did she want?” Thomas asked casually. At least he has met with Grandma Clara before, and the way she acted that day made him realize that Maven must have been going through a lot to please the old lady, who was a direct autocrat.“She has fixed a dinner date with Sabastian and wants me to be present since we have a deal to sign with their company.” Maven announced.“Do you have to be there? Do you have to sign a contract with Garcia Pharmaceuticals? There are other ways to be influential than marrying off a daughter to a man she doesn't love." Thomas said it with pain in his tone, but there was nothing he could do about it.

THE FOOL IS HEREWhen grandma said this, Maven nudged Thomas with her elbow and quickly pulled out the seat for him to join the family at the dinner. Just then, Victoria showed up. She had been skeptical about what Grandma would do to her if she rejected a family dinner with the most wanted Sabastian Garcia."Oh, thank goodness you are here, Victoria. I do not know where you got this daughter of yours from. If I had not known any better the history between you and her late father, I would have concluded that you birthed her with another man. Maven definitely doesn’t have the Taylor blood flowing through her veins."Grandma complained the moment Maven’s mom got into the room.“I am sorry for her unruly behavior, Ma Clara. I shall talk some sense into her later." Victoria said just to make Grandma feel better, but her tricks didn’t work this time.“You should know better that a weak woman like you cannot make any sense to a grown woman. Now, look at the embarrassment she has brought upo

A LITTLE FIST FIGHTThe moment they finished eating. Maven helped the chef, Abigail, clear the table so everyone else was seated and having fun. Thomas saw that his wife had cleared the table, and he quickly ran up to her with the glasses in his hand.“That was a good meal, Abigail." He complimented the chef. A shy smile escaped her face.“Thank you, Mr. Thomas. They never see my effort in this house; I hope they one day see it." She said that, and then a smile suddenly disappeared from her face. They washed the plates while grandma and her sons sat with Sabastian talking about business. Sabastian, on the other hand, could not for a second stop bragging about how wealthy his family was. His voice and words made Maven angry even more. She couldn’t hide the pang of hatred that built up in her heart. At this point, Thomas’ phone began to ring. He wiped the leather from his hands, pulled the phone out of his back pocket, and cupped the top of the phone with his hand to get the caller ID

CHAPTER 19
A BITTER MORNING The moment they got to the house, Victoria was already standing by the door, waiting for them to arrive. When Maven saw her facial expression, she knew there was trouble, but there was absolutely nothing she could do about it.“My mom doesn't look happy, but trust me, she cannot chase you out of here." Maven said with clenched teeth as she held Thomas's hand firmly.“Hey mom, what is the matter?” Maven asked her when they had walked a little bit closer to her. “What was all that about? What did you think you were doing with him at Grandma Clara's house when you knew Sabastian would be there?” She queried. Well, I wasn't there for Sabastian. I went there because Grandma asked me to show up at her house." Maven corrected. Did you find it fit to go there with this moron? Look how he embarrassed the family before Sabastian." Victoria spoke with anger, not minding how hurtful her words were or how far they could go in hurting Thomas."Mom, he is now my husband. You all

CHAPTER 20
A MISSING FILEOutside the Al Thani Group Tower, Maven had just pulled up in her SUV, the same car she has been using for about two years. The car had no respect for anyone and could decide to stop even at the center of the road, causing frustration for Maven, especially on days she has to be present at a very important event. Today she prayed that it wouldn’t disturb her, at least until her meeting was over. She pulled up in front of the magnificent building. She sighed the moment she saw the large sign light on the pinnacle of the tower. Her family could never be this organized and wealthy. They had so much strive, and they were only good at trolling all her efforts to make things better than they are. Maven is tired and exhausted by the way Grandma Clara treats her. For the past four years, she has handled one of the major branches of the company. The same one, Uncle Patrick, ran to its lowest point, and now that it has been revived, grandma is speaking of handing it to David if
