005 - The Name Is Victor

Suddenly Victor gets another call from Viona, the same woman who had called him before he decided to stop working with that Italian man.

[Where are you?]

“I'm on my way to the SFM Law Firm to take care of my divorce. What is it?”

[Divorce? Hey, Victor! I don’t care about your problem with that witch girl. We have a meeting with the rest of the managers here. We’ve been waiting for you. I told you to come to our office at 8]

Victor immediately ends the call coldly, apparently not wanting to listen to that woman's lecture any longer.

When he arrives at his destination, he gets out and still pays the taxi driver double despite the fact that the taxi driver didn't stop talking to him.

“Have a nice day. I hope you will still have more money to use my service in the future,” says the driver with a disdainful expression on his face.

Lucas, who happens to be standing next to Victor, is now laughing to hear such a word from that old man, as if he knows the meaning of the taxi driver's insult.

Victor ignores him and immediately turns toward the law office. He doesn't know how long it will take to finish everything. However, since both of him and Emma have agreed for a divorce, he thought that it won't be that long.

However, once they take the matters in front of the attorney for legal separation, it's not as simple as Victor thought.

Indeed, in just fifteen minutes, they are now legally divorced. But their problem hasn't finished just yet. And the sole reason is about the marital and separate property which they argue.

They both get out with an unfinished issue, but Emma is so sure that she is going to win this since she has the back-up from a rich man like Lucas. On the other hand, she knows that Victor won't have anything to find a good lawyer.

“Hey, buddy! Just make this easy for yourself. You're just wasting more money to complicate this dispute. I doubt you even have the money to hire a lawyer,” says Lucas who is still standing near his luxurious BMW car.

But Victor doesn’t pay much attention to Lucas's taunt. Because his attention is now focused on a beautiful woman with glasses, standing so straight with a cold gaze near a limousine.

Victor's reaction certainly catches Emma's and Lucas's attention, and so they also pay attention to that woman too.

In fact, Lucas had already noticed the limousine in front of his car since earlier. But he doesn’t know whose vehicle it is. He thinks it is just one of the rich people in town who is in trouble with the law.

But now, Victor is walking casually with a solemn look on his face, with both of his hands in his pockets. He looks so wasted just like what a jobless man would look like. Yet the woman opens the limousine door and bows her head slightly as Victor approaches her.

“They've been waiting for you,” says that woman.

“Thank you, Viona,” Victor replies before he gets into the car.

After that, the woman closes the door and then turns to Lucas and Emma so coldly.

“You don't have to worry about the lawyer for Victor, Mr. Lucas. I'll make sure he gets the best attorney in the world to win this trivial matter.”

Lucas is a little surprised and also confused, how she knows about his name. But then he smiles so confidently, feeling that his reputation is that good, even such a high class woman like her knows about him.

“You know about me, heh?” says Lucas with a cocky smile.

“How could I not know you? Your father still owes us. There's no way we'll just ignore you and your family,” Viona replies.

After that, she walks so elegantly, confidently approaching the back of the limousine. Before continuing to walk to the other side of the car, she stares coldly with her chin up at Emma.

“Just like what people say, a lowly woman for a lowly man! Just so you know, he holds the name “Victor” for a reason. There's no way we are going to let you win.”

Emma and Lucas are confused by Viona's words. They just stand there dumbfounded, watching the limousine leaving them. A few minutes have passed, yet they still can’t grasp what has happened.

They still could not digest all the events that occurred in that less than five minutes incident. About Victor getting into a limousine, and about the words Viona just said to Emma.

“Who is she?” Emma mutters with a low voice and a blank face.

From Viona's reaction earlier, it seemed as if she recognized her. But Emma is really clueless about Viona's figure. She is also confused by the words Viona had said to her before leaving.

The same with Lucas. He is a bit shocked that Viona talked about his father owes them. He still doesn’t know who "us" Viona talked about.

But he tries to ignore it and get into the car. And so Emma rushly follows by joining in on the other side of the car.

“Lucas, do you know that girl?” she asks.

“Nope! That was the very first time I saw her face,” replies Lucas as he starts the car.

But Emma seems displeased with Lucas's response. After all, in her eyes, it is obvious that Lucas was trying to flirt with that girl earlier. And he did it in front of her.

“You must be lying. And again, what was that attitude?”

“What are you talking about?” Lucas replies as he tries to ignore her.

“Obviously you were flirting with her,” Emma replies curtly.

“Hey, if what you called earlier was flirting, then every day you'll find me flirting. What's wrong with me showing my confidence in front of a woman? Are you hoping to be with the same pathetic loser like your ex-husband again? What’s wrong with girls these days.”

Emma is shut silent, can only put on a sullen face. After all, she did feel intimidated by Viona's figure earlier. What's more, Viona coldly spoke to her, like she was talking to someone from a higher position.

“I think she's just a career woman who likes to play with gigolos,” says Lucas.

Emma's attention is provoked again, but with a confused face.

“Gigolo?” she mumbles.

“Yes, gigolo. The type of guy who sells himself like any prostitute girl,” explains Lucas.

“I know what a gigolo is. But who are you calling a gigolo?”

“Who else? There was only one man at that time besides me. Did you not notice your ex-husband's expression when he entered the limousine? He must be a slave to that woman, don’t you get it?” Lucas asks rhetorically.
